Kinda highlights the differences, too. If a business decides to move from say California to Texas because there are fewer regulations or salaries are lower, their employees can move with them, and they all still pay taxes to the US, which AFAIK are to some extent shared between states. That is not true if a business moves to a different country. And there is no world government to mandate minimum standards for employee rights, environmental protections, or to prevent countries defecting by becoming tax havens.
