Oh Cranky - I think you’re right, personal pages, etc. are a better alternative. But is it necessary for SOME (not all, just some) to be assholes about it? Really, why be a prick when a polite slap on the wrist would do just as well?

So the simple maths of if we all opened a thread like this on account of how damned fascinating we are but we don’t know what people wanna know 'cause they never got around to asking us, don’t make any sense to you dlgirl?
It’s pretty simple really. If we all assumed that people had questions and opened a thread asking people to ask us personal questions, the server would choke and die. Therefore most of us give info on personal web pages or over the course of time.
This is not a personal attack. I am not a sad bastard. I think these have been mild slaps on the wrist and I don’t see anyone being a prick about it.

Now, previous silliness of mine aside, I agree with **leander** , although without the half-assed psycho-analysis and judgement of others’ lives (Really **leander** , what do you really know of anyone’s lives here to say whose sucks?)
This thread has been hijacked with sentiments that really belong in the Pit. A quick scan of [Nicklz’s](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=88875) thread shows no such thought were expressed that, although it is the same sort of thing. People see a trend starting and want to stop it before overworking the server, that’s understandable. But with one thread open and successful in this vein, why shouldn’t **dlgirl** think this thread would be ok, too?
If we want to attack the trend, I believe we should attack it in the Pit, since by what I see, **dlgirl** did nothing wrong. Cut **dlgirl** a break. Her picking up on this idea is not that different from the myriad of “Ask the …” threads.
In the meantime, instead of this thread getting hijacked any further, for those who don’t like the thread, how about opening a Pit thread about it and giving a link? I mean, if it really means that much to you.
And, because I actually am curious, what’s the “dl” for in “dlgirl”?

Thank you **Crunchy**. I noticed the same thing you did in **Nicklz’s** and **Superdude’s** thread. I don’t know if mine was the breaking point, but it seemed as if everyone was against me. Sorry again if I did something unspeakable.
And now for your question, dear, the “dl” in my name refers to **D** isney **l** and. DL is a short way of saying Disneyland. Many Disney fanatics use it.

Crunchy Frog -
I agree with you - I don’t know these people and I really shouldn’t comment on their lives - or judge them. It just pisses me off when so many people here and in RL are so nasty and mean-spirited, making stupid jokes at the expense of others. It drives me fucking crazy!
But I don’t think what I said was “half-assed psycho-analysis” - it may have been wrong, in this case, but it’s generally right.
And I still love Sad Robot.

Hmmm…Who’s my favorite Disney character? Well, in the Fab Five I would say Mickey, but for the movie characters I would say Belle. Or maybe Megara, or Hercules. Oh, geez. This is too hard. Oh screw all that crap. What I want to know is if you are really a virgin, and why. I took a peek at your site and you and that doesn’t seem to be the problem. Maybe your mom lives in your room with you, but you must go out. Do you have horribly mutilated private parts or something? Are you saving yourself for the perfect German Shepherd? What the hell is going on there?
