# How will this lower gas prices?

No. There has been some talk of this, but now with retail gas prices so high, I assume it’s effectively dead.

Depends on where you are. Here in Seattle, we’re paying 8.8% on most things, of which 6 some odd percent goes to the state, the rest to the city and county. But not on gas.
