Once again we will be enjoying an anti-valentines dinner at Mad Mex. It is a one price dinner (with obligatory separate checks) for exes or potential exes. The music is a big part of the fun; a playlist of great breaking-up tunes. We play along and toss funny insults back and forth under our breath whenever the server stops at our table. Obligatory make-up sex after dinner. ---

Reservation Off The Grid: a restaurant she likes… made via a connection at our kid’s school & paid for in advance in cash. Its WAY the fuck west of me & temps outside will be WELL BELOW FREEZING that day. I even had the reservation made under a different name so she can’t track it. If the food weren’t so good, you’d have to be STUPID to go there this time of year. ---

I suppose I might be helping my mother make pierogis for the church fish fries, but more likely, I’ll just be chilling at home alone. EDIT: Wait, I just double-checked my calendar; I forgot that it was tomorrow already. I have a medical check-up scheduled. Nothing specific, just that I’m almost 40, and figure I’d better get it done before my insurance gets cut off for some stupid reason. ---

My husband will be attending a training class in DC that day - it runs till 5, and by the time he catches the Metro to the end of the Green line, then drives home, it’ll be after 7. He should be exhausted, and since he has day 2 of the training the next day, he’ll be crashing early. I get up at 5 for work, so by 8 or so, I’m close to wasted. Hence, it will be a V-Day like the last 33 we’ve had together - just another day. We pretty much ignore its existence. Ah, love… 😃 ---

Y’know, on thinking about it, it’s interesting how many of us have medical things going on. I wonder if that’s maybe the reason I was able to get an appointment so quickly, and at a time so convenient for me (i.e., not during working hours)? ---
