anybody know how many servers make up the internet? Or how fast THAT number is growing?
If the number’s not too outrageous, in theory you could have administrators take a snapnot and filecount of their directories at a given time. You could even write some software to make it easier on the admininstrators.
The number would be changing second to second, but with enough snapshots you would come up pretty good numbers and growth trends.
