Ha! Us pseudo legal types are funny that way. I work in it and still think it’s a cool building.
I’ve done the whole trip in one big lump. It’s a killer. Take two days and stop in Weed for the night.
Oregon coast is really beautiful, but remember, coming south you are on the ocean side on 1, which I think is the way to do it.
For those who have been anxiously awaiting word, the trip up was done in two days, with the overnight stay being in Roseburg, OR. 12.5 hours for Day 1, and 6 hours for Day 2 (should have been 5 hours, but we hit all kinds of traffic between Portland and Seattle).
We attempted to stay at the Seven Feathers Casino & Resort just a few miles south of there, but they were sold out. Oh, and for the record, don’t ever stay at the Quality Inn in Roseburg unless you have a thing for giant wads of hair stuck to the wall of the shower that the cleaning crew somehow missed.
(But do visit Beth’s Cafe in Seattle and eat a 12-egg omelet. It’s not just big — it’s GOOD!)
Unless you really want to take in the scenery, flying would seem much more practical. Possibly cheaper, too.
