I just changed my phone number because I’m tired of getting texts from the drunk ex-boyfriend of the number’s former owner. He got to the point where he understood that it’s not her number anymore, but he would send the texts anyway. The last one said “I love her so much. I wish this was still her number” wtf? ---

Ask if her mother would be proud of her for sending pictures like that to random men on the internet. Tell her you’re willing to meet in some neighborhood motel to negotiate the price of your secrecy. If she shows up with the Linguine brothers, you’re on your own. ---

My wife once texted me “Sex tonight?” (Clearly we 314’s are a romantic lot.) Or she _tried_ to text me. The accidental recipient? _Her father_. His solution was not to respond at all . . . and instead to just forward the message along to her mother. ---

I must have a very common e-mail address, because I keep getting other people’s e-mails. For a while, I was getting messages from one firm in a nearby state. They pretty obviously thought that they were sending mail to one of their clients. These weren’t random scattershot mailings. They pretty clearly had someone they knew and were familiar with in mind. Because i got some surprisingly raunchy e-mail jokes and pictures. I handled it by sending a very low-key message telling them that I wasn’t offended, but that they clearly had the wrong e-mail address, and that they might want to more carefully check their e-addresses in the future. They sent back a most abject apology, and said they’d take care of it. of course, I got another raunchy e-mail sometime later from them. Obviously not checking carefully enough. ---

I’d forward it to a distribution of all of your friends (but delete the photo). Add instead some text about a funny “joke” your friend sent. Include a bad joke. She’ll get the hint. ---

It can happen twice. My dad has accidentally sent me two texts clearly meant for his girlfriend instead of me. Thank God there were no pictures. :eek: Somebody would have to pay my therapy bill. 😃 ---

I’d have definitely sent a “no worries it happens” type message. The poor gal was certainly horrified. ☹ I keep my gf’s name surrounded by \<3 symbols in my phone, well mainly that’s to make it easy to find her without scrolling, but as a side benefit this way I’m not going to confuse her with my bff’s gf who has the same name. ---

I can’t remember which parent she ended up hearing about it from. Probably she had a conversation with her dad later like “I hope you didn’t read that text I sent . . .” "Oh, I just passed that on to your mom . . . " They’re the sort of family that expresses their affection by mercilessly teasing and picking on each other. (I have a hell of a time trying to keep up with them at family gatherings.) So for my father-in-law it probably seemed like his lucky day. ---

I just wrote a text to my mom telling her how lucky I am to have my boyfriend in my life, how wonderful he is, ect. Totally gushing. Accidentally sent it to him. Serves me right for questioning the “accidental” nature of those texts! At least I didn’t accidentally send my mom a “sexy” text. 😃 ---

It’s too late now, I suppose, but clearly there is an imbalance in the friendship. The only method of repair in such a situation would be to send the woman picture of _yourself_ splayed out in a bathtub. This has nearly always worked for me.
