[QUOTE=Galena]
Have you checked with the university health center to see if they have any informative programs on getting health insurance for the spouses and dependents of graduate students?

This is what my school’s health center has on their website:

> No, UCD does not provide health insurance for the dependents of students. However, Cowell Student Health Center does provide information and counseling regarding health insurance options and local health service resources to the dependents of UC Davis students.

They then have some links to ehealthinsurance and the like. Totally helpful.

Ugh. I don’t have health insurance either, though I think I am covered in some way by the university (I just transferred here this semester–haven’t had a chance to look into that aspect of it yet). I’m just glad my son is covered by my ex-husband’s insurance.

It really sucks to be sick for a month because you can’t afford to go to the doctor to get a prescription for antibiotics 😕
