I just want to win the lottery and keep on with my job of preschool teacher.
I chose musician/singer but would also take movie star, television star, author, and although I don’t think I could be one in a million years, comedian (too scary - what if they don’t laugh?!).
Author, though with the knowledge that very few authors are famous and even fewer are rich. I’d be one because I like to write.
I’d like to be famous and rich through my art work. In fact I’m already there . . . except for the famous and rich part.
Absolutely under no circumstances do or would I want to be famous. I was well-known in my home town since it was somewhat small and my parents were very well known. Being known wherever you go is the most draining experience you can imagine. Everyone acts like they know you, those who don’t know you want to try and know you and you’re constantly paranoid people are your friends because of money or association.
Behind the scenes producer, like **Cat Whisperer **said. Lowest profile possible.
Add another author to the bunch. I really don’t want to be famous, and rich doesn’t matter. I just would love to make enough money to live comfortably and be able to do so doing what I love to do.
An athlete for me. I think the ultimate for immortality would be to have my number retired for the team I played for. That would be plastered on the outfield wall forever (or until the team folded, of course).
Author/Writer was first thought. But then figured if I it was going to make me truly rich then I would probably be writing crappy books, and to write a crappy book you have to read it several times and that is too much torture. So Author/Writer if it is just “well off.”
So I picked producer. I assume you mean movie producer. Because I don’t really want the “famous” part. Just rich. And for the most part producers may get name recognition but they don’t often get “harassed on the street because people recognize you” recognition. And I love movies.
Fuck this! I’m not giving up three other disciplines!
I selected Author/Writer but if Director/Screenwriter had been among the choices, I would’ve picked that.
At the same time?
Since “Inventor of a hilarious fridge magnet” is absent, I went with “singer”.
Why no “Evil Overlord” option?!
Very uncharacteristic of me, but I chose Athlete. I can think of few things more joyous than being a Super Bowl-winning quarterback.
I picked athlete, which would surprise anybody who knew me, probably.
With many of the others, I’d be too scared of ending up a hack, churning out rubbish to keep my profile up because I’d run out of ideas. If I were a famous athlete, I’d be physically fit (at least, fitter than I am now) and wouldn’t feel under pressure to be groundbreaking or thought-provoking.
I’d also get to travel the world as part of my job.
This is under the assumption that, as an Englishman, the sport would be either cricket, rugby or football - ideally cricket
Since the poll is guaranteeing me success, I went with Comedian. Seems lower stress than actor/musician but you still get recognized and hang out on late night talk shows. Plus people freak out when some actor is seen drunk or out shopping in the wrong clothes but you have to seriously work at being a jagoff before you get negative press as a comedian.
Director wasn’t an option. So, I picked producer. I want to keep my privacy and still have success.
I’d love to be a successful theater actor. Even the ones working on Broadway are rarely recognized in public. They can lead a normal life, no bodyguards, fences, or crazed fans.
Book author is good for the same reason.
Another one for author here.
Not only do my talents lie toward “author/writer”, it seems to be the best of the choices in terms of money yes, problems of fame not so much. Even Stephen King says he’s generally not harassed by fans other than people sending him unsolicited manuscripts.
