[Himalayan Sheepdog](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Himalayan_Sheepdog)

That’s what he called it. It matched more closely the description of the larger [Tibetan Mastiff](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tibetan_Mastiff). It clearly was larger than 90 lbs. A fat German Shepherd can weight 90 lbs. I think he said 125 lbs., and that would have been close.

> In rural areas it is common for people’s cats to go missing – it’s usually coyotes.

In urban areas, too.

Yep, deer know. They eat grass, mowing contentedly right up against the beagle kennel, dogs barking like banshees til they get bored. Then it goes quiet again.

The deer eat the apples off my trees as far up as they can reach standing on their hind legs.

Yesterday afternoon my wife was sitting on a chair on our front porch/stoop, with the dog tied up near her. A fox was sitting in the driveway next door, maybe 50-60 feet away - looking at her and the dog and barking. Was quite thin - we’re assuming one of this year’s youngsters.

It is just so weird for this longtime city boy to be seeing foxes so frequently, and to have them display next to no fear of humans/dogs.
