It occurs to me that we don’t see all of House’s cases. Assuming he takes 4weeks vacation a year, he probably has about 48 caes per year, or a few less. I suspect that we see the 22 or so that inspire him to particularly bad behavior.
Hmm…vacation? His leisure time seems to consist of sleeping, guitar or piano playing, and poker with the UPS guy and the guy from the bus stop. And even then he gets paged and responds. Where would he “enjoy” visiting??
Don’t get me wrong, I find him strangely compelling, but the only fun he has is torturing Wilson. And he mostly needs to be at work to do that.
Sort of. She turns a blind eye to a lot of what he does, but often is the cause of a lot of his “mistakes” as well- through her over caution and legal worries. She also tries to keep a thumb on him to control his worst impulses (clinic duty punishments, meaningless gestures of authority that waste House’s time since he’s such a misanthrope he’d rather engage in a dick measuring contest than do his work, etc). I’d rather give him and his team a small wing and let the monkeys run the banana plantation. House understands and responds to logic. If I could find a deal that works for him he’ll stick to it, if only because he knows he’ll never get it so good elsewhere. THAT would be the tough part. He has always given me the impression that he was allowed to do as he deems correct, he wouldn’t give Cuddy half the grief that he does.
I remember Cuddy once saying the hospital allots an extra $5 million for lawsuits against House.
So that would be $100 per lawsuit?
I just watched that episode. I’m pretty sure it was more like $500,000 per year, not $5 million.
