I seem to remember a thread way back when where we learned that you’re also a real gentleman yes? Opens doors, pulls out chairs? You’re a bit too far north for me, but I imagine you could just wander around town doing those sorts of things for strangers and come home with a date no problem 🙂

I think you can set your OKC profile to only allow members to see it, or allow the public at large. You must have yours set the first way. I am jealous about Burning Man, btw, and no way do you look 38. If I come across any excellent dudes looking for same I will point them in your direction 🙂

I’ve read both the old and the new posts in this thread and what impresses me is the lack of phrases like “likes to cuddle”, “takes long walks”, and the usual silly rhetoric of singles columns. Sounds to me like most Dopers appreciate a sense of humor too.
57, female, divorced, no kids, practicing Christian, thinks Babylon 5 is the best television show ever, likes sci-fi cons, loves to cook and bake, has counter picketed against the Westboro Baptist church back when nobody outside of my own town had heard of them.

48, single, straight, female. Love sci-fi and fantasy and I have the library to prove it. Just got a permanent job again (yay!), have my own home and two cats. I don’t smoke (and won’t stick around a place where people are smoking), rarely drink, and damnit, yes, I \*love \*to cuddle. It’s one of my favourite activities, along with smooching and canoodling. I also love to play games, such as Talisman, Robo Rally, Arkham Horror, Dominion, and Settlers of Cataan. Openly liberal, and either an atheist or an agnostic, depending on the wind’s direction. I have a slight case of paronomasia.

Just not the sort to repeat clichés, I think. I’m always tempted to write “likes long walks in the fireplace and sitting in front of a roaring beach.”
