For anyone still following along, Senator Franken was sworn in today and [cast his first vote](http://www.minnpost.com/politicalagenda/2009/07/07/10092/franken_records_his_first_vote_reflects_on_emotions_of_day). I guess that answers the question in the thread title. ---
