Blerf Fell asleep around midnight, up at 4 and now it’s hitting me. Sp damn glad the election BS is over, but not really over because now everybody is going to talk about ad nauseam \*\*Apes \*\* we’ve all done it Once I turned on my mother’s brand new oven and I wondered what the smell was. I thought it must be new oven smell. No, my grandmother had hidden a tupperware bowl full of chocolate chips cookies in there and I didn’t think to look. Try cleaning melted plastic out of a brand new oven… and even worse, I ruined a whole batch of chocolate chip cookies. ---

How shocked, really, would EVERYONE have been if Romney had won? Seriously; I think the recounts would have taken weeks, 'cause nobody would have believed it. So it was kind of a non-election for me, POTUS-wise. The state voting thingies were far more interesting. ---

**SIGH.** You know what that sigh is for. Some of you do. Good news is my hard drive is fine. Good news is my internet connection is not virused out and connected just fine–at the shop. Bad news is I still can’t get browser action at home although Windows and Avast can update just fine and it says I have internet access. I’ve tried three (3) different browsers and nothing’s happening. I’m going to call Landlord to restart the browser and see if that does anything but I don’t have much hope at this point. And then I saw [this](http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Hearthfire) the other day. I need this. Need. This. I need to be able to \*download \*this. If restarting doesn’t work, Computer Guy’s getting a text this weekend. In other, unrelated news, I can now say I’ve met a governor. Well, in January he’ll be a governor. Ol’ Pat McCrory, who I didn’t vote for because I am prejudiced against anyone who was a mayor of Charlotte. It’s all part of my lifelong prejudice against Charlotte in general. He stayed at Ye Olde Workplace a few months ago when he was gladhandin’ across the state. ---

I’m not going to ask the obvious questions, such as "Have you uninstalled ALL of your browsers, and reinstalled just one \ and see if that works? Also…router problems, perhaps? Unplug all the connections to your router, wait a minute, plug them all back in, and if that does nothing then call your ISP and make them ping and make sure you actually have a real connection and not just a little dribble…or somewhat… See, I didn’t do all that! Which is why you need a thread so folks can help 🙂 (Always thought we needed a ‘Help Me!’ forum, hehe) ---

Apes, I’ve done the exploding dish thing only it was a vintage pyrex dish. After the shock and horror I have to admit it was cool how it just sort disappeared Of course it kept reappearing in tiny shards all over the kitchen. Wear shoes in there for awhile 'kay? Oh, Swampy you must be right! Though from the noise I hope the boys aren’t being too hard on those youngsters. Today is library day. I hope I won’t have trouble getting a card since I’m still looking for an apartment. Extended stay hotel living is strange and I don’t like it, to boot. I miss my doggy and kitties. Waaaaah, whine whine. Happy Wednesday-- only two more till the weekend, woo! ---

All I’ve done kitchen-disaster-wise is switch on an oven (not mine) without looking to see if there was something inside, but I remembered to look in time, and another time I forgot about some eggs I had boiling until I heard booming noises from the kitchen. But my Orgo teacher once insisted in continuing a distillation way past what his TAs considered acceptable. Now, they were TAs and he a student, but they were several years younger than him and he was a Jesuit priest (in Spain in the 1960s), so they said “on your head be it” and left the room. They went back in after the KABOOM and spent a long time pulling glass shards off his face and other uncovered areas with tweezers. As he’d say when he told his students that story at the start of their first class with him, “now you know why it’s important to wear your goggles: with them, all I did was damage looks which weren’t that good to begin with; without, I’d now be blind.” ---

SIL has gone in for surgery. My niece tells me she (sil) says she feels at peace and is confident everything will be fine. SIL is kinda like that so I can imagine her sayin’ it. Again, prayers, good thoughts, appropriate/inappropriate appendage crossin’ and whatever good vibes etc y’all can send would be much appreciated. She’s a real sweetheart and I just want her to be ok. ---

Tacky, classless, I’d expected better. For the most part it’s the usual suspect who, thank god, I never have to cross paths with irl. ---

It was a lay down on the table and try not to squirm too much. Walking around would make the doctor’s job much harder. If it does, Step 3 will be a nerve ablation. **Rennies** are Renaissance Faire participants and the more “into it” patrons or customers, which we call playtrons. Regular customers or patrons just show up, amble around with a turkey leg in one hand and an ale in the other and watch the Tortuga Twins show. Playtrons dress up and come to play, hence the name. (I used my Google-fu on it today). I’m going to try clearing DNS caches and suchlike and see what that does. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll try calling upstairs to get my landlord to restart the router. If that doesn’t work, it’s time to call Computer Guy to come over and brew a pot of coffee. I’ve never blown anything up in the oven. There are stories of my mom or grandma blowing up a pressure cooker of something once. \*\*Rosie’s \*\*sig to all! ---

When I was but a wee cub, I was witness to a pressure cooker full of chikins blowin’ up in my grandmother’s kitchen. Cool as that was to watch, I mean chickins stuck to the ceiling!, da bear is now deathly afraid of pressure cookers. Won’t have one in da cave. Nevermind all the “how much safer they are these days” talk. They are teh evil!:eek: Still waitin’ on word of how SIL’s surgery went. ---
