How's your presidential voting record?

Let’s see …
1972 - Nixon
1976 - Ford
1980 - Carter
1984 - Mondale
1988 - Dukakis
1992 - Clinton
1996 - Clinton
2000 - Gore
2004 - Kerry
Five hours ago - Obama

I’m 3 for 9. Here’s hoping my average improves.

Come on, you’re not old enough to have played craps in an Army barracks during World War II!

2000 - Nader (L) (in New York, don’t worry - I didn’t stealth-vote the winner)
2004 - Kerry (L)
2008 - Obama

1992 - Primary, Tsongas (yes, I know); General, Clinton (W). Absentee ballot for general, was living overseas.
1996 - General, Clinton (W). Absentee ballot, was living overseas.
2000 - Did not vote, had abandoned residence in US (guess why?)
2004 - Primary, Kerry (only candidate left in NYS), General, Kerry (L)
2008 - Primary, Obama, General, Obama (?)

In local elections I have almost an unerring habit of voting for the loser. I swear there are candidates out there who have gotten a vote from me, and from someone who voted for them by mistake.

3-for-5 (W. representing my two losses)

Forgot about that technicality. Okay, that makes me 0-4, Obama pending.

1984-Reagan (W)
1988-Bush the Elder (W)
1992-Clinton (W)
1996-Dole (L)
2000-Bush the Fuckwit (W)
2004-Kerry (L)
2008-Prolly gonna vote for Rickey Jackson, bestest linebacker the Saints ever had. (L)

'76 W
'80 L
'84 L
'88 L
'92 W
'96 W
'00 L
'04 L

If next Tuesday goes as I hope it will, that will bring me up to 4 W and 5 L.

1996: Clinton (W)
2000: Gore (L)
2004: Kerry (L)
2008: Obama (?)

I’ve voted once, in 92, and Clinton won, so I’m 1.000

Joe

1972 McGovern (L)
1976 Eugene McCarthy (write-in – Lost)
1980 John Anderson (L)
1984 Mondale (L)
1988 Dukakis (L)
1992 Clinton (W)
1996 Clinton (W)
2000 Dole (“You win some, you lose some. Then there’s that little-known third category.”)
2004 Kerry (L)

So I’m 2-7 in the electoral vote and 3-6 in the popular vote.

1996, sadly, I was 17.
2000 - Nader (in Kansas, so my vote REALLY didn’t hurt Gore)
2004 - Kerry
2008 - Obama

I hope this year is my losing streak breaker.

1992 Clinton (W)
1996 Clinton (W)
2000 Gore (sigh)
2004 Kerry (L)
2008 Obama

2000 Gore (L)
2004 Kerry (L)
2008 Obama (?)

I’m ready to win, now.

1996 Clinton (W)
2000 Gore (L)
2004 Kerry (because of who he wasn’t, really) (L)
2008 Obama (?)

I don’t remember if I’ve voted in primaries or not, so I’m thinking I didn’t. I missed this year’s because I had just moved.

1972 - Nixon (W)
1976 - Ford (L)
1980 - Reagan (W)
1984 - Reagan (W)
1988 - Bush (W)
1992 - Bush (L)
1996 - Dole (L)
2000 - Bush (W)
2004 - Bush (W)
2008 - McCain (frankly, anybody but Obama)

So far, I’m 6 for 9. Hopefully, next week I’ll be 7 for 10.

2000- Bush (W)
2004- Badnarik (L)
2008- Jay (L)

1988 Bush (W)
1992 Clinton (W)
1996 Clinton (W)
2000 Didn’t vote. Would have voted for Gore in Florida!
2004 Kerry (L)
2008 Obama (?)

I have never voted for a winning governor.

0-2 so far. Hopefully after this year I’ll be batting .333.

1996: Browne (L; voted in NY and knew it wouldn’t count)
2000: Dubya (W, but what a disaster)
2004: Badnarik (L; lived in OH and hoped to Naderize the GOP)
2008: Obama (enough is enough)

So that puts me at me at 1-2, probably .500 on Wednesday if you’re betting real money.
