6. Gomer Pyle.

Bumping again. Looks like there are 33 entries now?
I’ll score this tomorrow unless I get slammed with work.
Notes:
1: My first thought was daffodil.
2: AKA Hawkeye. But my other thought was Doogie Howser.
5: Had no idea; had to look up cast lists.
9: Is anyone going to answer anything else for this one?
Just a few more to go.
Looking at the responses, I said pens, I’m surprised that the answer is overwhelmingly pencils. Must be an American thing, I barely remember using a pencil at all at school.
At least when I was a kid, pencils, rather than pens, were definitely more typical in U.S. schools, especially in elementary schools. Not sure about today, but then, we are also largely a bunch of Dopers of a certain age.
Not even in math class? I doubt pencils in school are an American thing….
We definitely always had to have our own No. 2 pencils for Scantron tests.
It looks like we’re stuck at 34.

A solid 18th place!!!
WooHoooo!!!
My best showing by a long shot! Woohoo!
Congrats maus and thanks Rebo!
20th? OK…
Thanks, Rebo!
Bah. Just an exercise in groupthink! The true originals. like Yllaria, are the real winners here!
(No, I’m not bitter about my bottom-third finish. Why do you ask?)
I would have done a lot better if I hadn’t mentally switched Jerry Orbach with Richard Belzer.
ETA: Thanks, Rebo, for running the game!
Keep trying! I never thought 18th place was possible.
Congrats, @Maus_Magill ! I’m pleased with making it onto the podium, myself.
As always, thank you for running this, @Rebo!
Ooh, I like the idea of a medal ceremony.
Because you got silver! Congrats to the podiumites!
