Huge American Soft Drinks with Ice

black455:

I’m with ya my friend. Colored sugar water is nasty, carbonated even worse.

This American drinks tea (no ice or sugar but a little lemon is fine,) beer, occasionally hot herbal tea and water. No more coffee, soft drinks or fruit juice unless the juice is strickly fruit juice and no colors, sugars and preservatives.

I like a moderate amount of ice in my drink. When I’m home, and if my beverage is already refrigerated, sometimes I use no ice. However, when I’m at work, I’m there by myself. I can’t leave for even two minutes until someone arrives to take my place. I usually take a really big cup filled to the brim with ice and drink. If I’m taking tea or Kool-Aid (yeah, I know, but I LIKE it) I put more sugar in when I make it to account for the melting ice diluting the drink.

To SirRay: Do you mean the big, red 52 oz. cups from 7-11? I have two of those. I think 5 hours is a big understatement. My hubby and I usually fill one with ice water and keep it on our bedside table at night. If I fill it at 11 or 12 at night, I still have ice at 10 the next morning. If you keep the lid on it seems to last longer. YMMV.

I don’t like soda, and outright refuse to drink cola. If I’m very thirsty, I’ll drink soda(fruit flavored), but I’d rather drink it at room temperature than ice-cold. Oddly, I do occasionally put ice in milk…
