I’m gonna guess that the charity that owns the house did not put the gold behind a brick wall. And probably every previous owner (or their heirs) is going to claim that they put the gold there. But if nobody can prove ownership, does it belong to the charity? ---

I tried to zoom into the photo from the article to see the stamps on the gold bars, which might help to date them, but that didn’t work. ---

The serial numbers are clearly marked on the gold bars, and it looks like the manufacturer’s stamp. Can some sort of backtrack tracing of transactions be done using that data? ---

“Huge” is a relative term. At current gold prices $10 million is 155 pounds, which is just shy of the weight of 1 gallon of gold (160.9 lbs). In contrast, a $10 million [mush](https://www.target.com/b/mush/-/N-d5oyy) stash would be much, much larger. ---
