Humans as Carnivores ?

She was before she left her village, right?

I have no idea what she eats now, and that’s not relevant to the point I was trying to get through your skull.

I was pointing out that she grew up in one of many tribes in the far North who still eat their traditional diet. There are plenty of villages there that do. She left, but most don’t ever leave. And she might still be eating a fairly traditional diet, it’s not impossible to get wild-caught raw fish in most places.

Trolls, trolls. Why must I feed the trolls?

Just FYI, accusing other board members of being trolls is against the rules in this forum. You can only do that in The BBQ Pit.

Also, do you have a cite that she grew up eating only the traditional diet? What I saw were descriptions that she learned the traditional hunting methods, but nothing that stated she purely lived by them.

Whether Annabella Piugattuk eats a traditional diet or not is besides to point, which is this:

FWIW, that is from Cecil himself, who claims to never be wrong.

Sure, they had a high infant mortality and died from infectious diseases and accidents (note when death rates peak) at a higher rate than “modern” societies, but they didn’t drop dead from cancer, heart attacks, diabetes and all of that other stuff (of course, I’m sure they still got these diseases, just rarely).

I couldn’t care less. Generally I believe in following forum rules, but the pack of lies, damned lies, and statistics that pass for dietary knowledge in the dietary wasteland known as the USA requires special tactics. Although, just to be clear, I do believe in following forum rules, generally speaking.

Another rule is that you don’t get to decide which rules to follow.
I’m tellin’!

I chose to give you a friendly heads up rather than reporting the post to moderators, but someone else could report your posts, or a moderator could come across those posts on their own. In either case, they would well be within their bounds to give you an official warning for those comments. Collect too many of those too quickly, and your posting privileges will be revoked.

This forum is pretty strict on behavior. You are welcome to disagree with statements from others, you are welcome to express that disagreement fairly vehemently, as long as it is aimed at the position. But derogatory comments about other posters will be treated harshly. We have a fairly polite forum, free from some of the worst behavior on the internet, precisely because we enforce these rules.

Accusing other posters of being trolls is against the rules. They were posted in your registration agreement, they are posted in the forum About This Message Board. There is a sticky at the top of the Comments Forum list.

No topic is exempt. If we don’t allow that behavior toward White Supremecists or Pedophiles, we’re damn sure not going to allow that behavior towards people who disagree on dietary knowledge.

Again, I say all of this as a friendly heads up so that you can self correct your behavior, rather than dragging a moderator into this.

People die every day from preventable diseases, because they don’t know the truth about nutrition and health. And no, this isn’t a particularly polite forum. I’ve seen plenty of bile here. The members here are a little older than the average forum, so there’s less immaturity, and more general knowledge.

I’ve been fighting dietary ignorance for years, and the personal attacks I’ve endured from vegans and junk-food addicts make me wholly uninterested in approaching this topic any more gently. Feel free to report me anytime you want.
