Please, leave out the, “Even a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” sort of profound twaddle. Certainly none of the noxious “Today is the first day of the rest of your life” drivel. We’re looking for solidly funny old sayings.

Here’s a few:

_Winter teaches a naked woman how to knit._
[sup]DANISH SAYING[/sup]

_The gift everybody gives but nobody takes, advice._
[sup]FRENCH SAYING[/sup]

_People who brag about their ancestors are like potatoes,
the best part is underground._
[sup]FRENCH SAYING[/sup]

Procrastination is the art of catching up with yesterday.

Spanish saying I believe? Or it might be another one that is similar.

Piet Hein ~ Danish philosopher, mathematician, scientist and author - and the inventor of the superellipse and soma cube. I love Hein’s collection of poems (maybe 10,000) in his “Grooks” series, out of print. 🆒
