Seen on the observation platform overlooking the crocodile exhibit at the Sydney Aquarium: _Don’t lean over the railing. If the fall doesn’t kill you, the croc will._ I noticed during my trip that the Aussies seemed to eschew euphemism. Public buildings didn’t, for example, have restrooms or mens/ladies rooms - they had _Toilets_. ---

I don’t think there is any non-euphemism, non-vulgar word for either that fixture, nor for the room it is found in. “Toilet” is the things you take care of after waking up in the morning, including elimination of waste, but also including personal cleansing and application of cosmetics and scents. ---
