Great link, thanks for sharing. 😃 Required reading for anyone wanting to debate on the internet! Incidentally, all of those things are why I never set foot in GD. I can’t even read it, because all anyone ever does in a fucking forum argument is scream past each other. I’ve been making a lot of progress to stopping arguing over the internet at all, although I’m not perfect… I still slip up a lot. ---

They’re really odd. The whole point of knowing this stuff is that by knowing it, you can prevent it. The article goes out of its way to say that you can’t defend against it. Furthermore, it doesn’t line up with my life. I didn’t learn to not trust that people are basically good at seven. I still hold that people are basically good. I forget sometimes when I’m angry or otherwise emotional, but I always remember later. In fact, a lot of the stuff they talk about seems to only kick in when I’m emotional. Number 4 is the only one that’s consistent, and that’s because I have an anxiety disorder. ---
