# hunter/gatherer haircuts?

Reading a book on anthropology and notices a few b/w photos of Amazonian tribes with “page-boy” haircuts with trimmed bangs. Got to to wondering how they and other preBronze-age tribes cut their hair: prior to scissors or knives, that is.

Knapped stone knives are thought to date back to at least _Homo habilis_, approx. 2 million years ago. Bash a piece of quartz, or even better, flint, until it breaks and you have a basic cutting implement (as my fingers can attest).
