I thought the tone of the OP was amusingly tepid, and said so. To answer the broader question you raise about where posters can cordially complain about each other without a-holes like me making fun of them for it: I have no idea. Don’t care, really. It seems to me that polite interactions can take place in the threads themselves, since it’s only really when you’ve had it up to your tits with someone that a separate forum thread would be necessary. At which point you can start a Pit thread and I can post that you sound like an old lady. (Which I’m guessing you get a lot, what with all the “I _hope_ you’re not implying…” and “ruffle my feathers” nonsense.) ---

I’m not sure **lance strongarm** is trolling, but he does seem to belong to that group of people - there are a lot of them on message boards - who think that you can think up any possible exception to a statement someone else has made, you have demonstrated your intellectual superiority over that person. The rest of us call this behavior “nitpicking” or “wasting everybody’s fucking time.” ---

**lance** is now determined to remain the last man standing on [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=663728) about copyright law. I’ve actually tried to get him back on topic twice now, and he’s refused because he “doesn’t trust” me. He was at least highly engaged in the topic a day or so ago, although of course he refused to do much beyond bald assertion. At this point, I suspect he doesn’t give a wet squirt where the discussion goes as long as he’s the center of it. ---

Look, can we dispense with this side-conversation bullshit about niceties and just agree that **lance** is a really irritating bossy little twit? Read any thread in GD and he’s in there acting like he’s the biggest fucking know-all in the world and he’s just playing with us mere mortals.
