How do I get a hyperlink in MS work to print in normal black rather than blue? ---

After you’ve created the hyperlink, just highlight it and select black or “automatic” text color. It will still appear underlined, however; not sure how you would eliminate this if this is what you want. If it’s for a printed paper document then you can simply undo the hyperlink and let it appear as ordinary text. ETA: On preview, I see you asked about _Work(s)_, not Word. I don’t have Works available to check, but I would imagine the process is similar. ---

If it’s just a one-off, you can highlight the text of the link and change it to black or whatever color. If you want to do it for all links in a document, change the color for the style of hyperlinks. ---

It is for an invitation that well be mailed out. Therefore, I would prefer it to be in black and not underlined. ---

Right click the text \> Hyperlink \> Edit Hyperlink \> Remove Link. ---

Or just highlight it, select black ink, and then deselect underlining. Or, once you press “SPACE” after completing the url and it automatically converts to a blue-underlined link, press crtl+z to undo the autoformatting. ---

Thanks, Worked like a charm. For the first time ever I am working with graphics in Word. I am having some problems moving the pictures around. Is there a way to just drag the photos? Currently, I am moving the cursor and cutting and pasting and it is hard to get everything exactly right. Also, the text jumps around when I get too close. Is there a way to get the text to ignore the graphics so I can move the pictures as close to the text as I want without having the text think it is too close and move itself? ---

I’m sure there’s a more elegant way to do it but select Format Picture, Layout, Behind Text and you should be able to move the photo anywhere you want, including in front of or behind text and other images. ---

I find it is easiest to manipulate the position and layer of pictures by putting them inside text boxes. The text boxes seem to me to be much easier to control. When you initially draw the box, make it about the same size you want your picture/graphic to be. Then, with your cursor in the text box choose Insert -\> Picture -\> From File (or paste if it’s in the clipboard). ---

This seems eccentric to me, but maybe you’re onto something that I don’t know about. What can you do this way that you can’t do by setting the image layout to Tight or In Front Of Text? ---

This is the textbook method. BTW if you select Tight or Square instead of Behind Text, Word will flow the surrounding text around the image, instead of overlaying the text on top of the image. ---

Trying to absolutely position images any other way is just going to drive you insane. ---

Don’t forget to hold down alt while you drag, which will give you a little better precision. Or, at least, I think that’s what I did back when I still had and needed Word.
