I am trying to add hyperlink to some web site addresses in a text cell in Excel 2000. But the trouble is that I only seem to be able to add a hyperlink to _all_ the text or none at all.

In other words, I can’t simply highlight the URL and link it to a web address. The only way to add links, it seems, is to select the entire cell and then click the hyperlink button (Ctrl-K).

But then the problem is that it links _all_ the text in that text box, not just the URL, and I don’t want that?

I’ve even tried inserting just the URL text, creating the hyperlink of all the text, and then added new text to the box. But even then, Excel automatically hyperlinks all the text in th cell. Arrgh!!

Anyone know a way around this problem?

jdl, I don’t think there is a way to create a hyperlink for just specific text within a cell. It’s the entire cell or nothing.
