Hypothetical legal question about bestiality

All for it. Gay marriage that is.

But you appear to have missed the point of my query, which is the numerous times anti-gay marriage advocates have brought-up bestiality, pedophilia and/or polygamy as the ‘natural’ follow-up to legalization of gay marriage. Just preempting that particularly tired swerve.

Once you’ve legalized gay marriage, why not polygamy, incest, bestiality or any other form of union? If the only criteria is that people love each other, then who says it’s wrong for a 70-year-old man to marry 10 underage girls?

As for bestiality, if it was just a common “ickness factor” against it then I don’t know that such would make much of an argument against it – although I am firmly planted in said camp. However I do think there are real and valid concerns that go beyond mere feelings in this case. For instance, if I found out that my son was pumping my Doberman, the least of my concerns would be the question of morality but rather the aberrant behavior itself – thus I would seek professional help ASAP. There’s also the fact that intra-species transmitted diseases are usually the deadliest.

I mean if bestiality is “normal,” what isn’t? Wearing reversed filthy underwear atop of you head isn’t immoral nor does it harm anyone else, does it? Besides the person doing so claims he/she gets tremendous sexual gratification by doing it…and the underwear’s certainly not about to protest. Works for necrophiliacs as well.

I was really into bestiality, sadomasochism, and necrophilia, but then I realized I was just flogging a dead horse.”

Bestiality is illegal by statute. Rationality does not come into it.

Works for me. Although I thought I’d google that and these folks seem to differ: Zoophilia & The Law

Not linking directly as it appears to be an advocacy site.

::::shudder::::

ETA: There’s a film out there, I think called “Zoo,” that deals with this stuff based on a true story. Watched ten minutes of it some time ago and could go no further…
