Somebody’s watching me. Concerned citizens. Medical persons. Looky loos. Rude stares. Scared kids. Mean sneers. That one lewd leer at a Tractor supply store. Grandkids, waiting on slowpoke Nana. Personal care aides with willfull smiles. Rolleyes and a “oh Mother” look on her face. Hungry cats. Dogs looking to go out. An “aren’t you gonna eat it” smirk from a daughter. “Gimme a beer” from certain men folks around here. Google. Amazon. Security cameras, everywhere. Cell phone cameras. Fourth wall asides from Fish(Abe Vigoda) Samantha Stevens. Even that Ape from the Zoo show. Probably this laptop screen. I don’t think I could get away with anything. (No FBI, I’m not planning a murder, it’s a story I’m working on) It doesn’t feel right. 🫣 ---

You know how they catch serial killers after years and all the neighbors say “He seemed so normal!”? The burgeoning surveillance state will magnify that effect - by focusing on what they see on their screens, they will miss the real-world danger signs. The algorithms provide rose-colored glasses, making it harder to spot the red flags. ---
