I just authorized the final payment of my mortgage. It will be wired Monday morning (so I guess, technically, I won’t be a home owner until then.) Hooray! What an amazingly freeing feeling. I am virtually debt free! ---

Congratulations!! 😃 Do you feel 20 lbs lighter? Whatever will you do with your money, now that you don’t have to pay your mortgage every month? PS - don’t forget to start setting aside money for annual property taxes, home insurance, HOA fees. Those things can sneak up on you! ---

I haven’t had a new car since 1997. This one is bound to die soon. I suspect that will be next. But I have plenty to do around the house. I have always wanted to have someone strip the ugly brown wall paper and paint something a little brighter. I need to get the retaining wall out front repaired. I have bedroom furniture that my folks gave me when I moved out of the house 20+ years ago. There is lots to do! ---
