I have finally been able to close on my condo after four extensions requested by Fannie May. It all happened yesterday and at the very last minute; it was the strangest closing I’ve ever been part of. It was handled entirely by email and it wasn’t until about three o’clock yesterday afternoon that we received the info on where and to whom we had to wire transfer the money. We barely got to the bank before closing but we did get it accomplished. Now, we have to have the carpet cleaned and some minor repairs done and then I can have my new furniture delivered. I still have to buy a vacuum cleaner, coffee pot, toaster, towels, etc., etc. Finally I can give my sister her life back and reclaim my own. I’m so happy I could just spit. ---

Funny how having the burden of owning property can make a person feel so free. Congrats! 😃 Enjoy your shopping. Might I suggest the Linden Street quick-dri towels from [this page at J.C. Penney](http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X5.aspx?DeptID=60157&CatID=60176&shopperType=X). They’re awesome – kinda like chenille, and they don’t feel stiff after using like some towels do. You’re on your own with the toaster. Good toasters are hard to find. ---

I have a toaster recommendation! [This baby](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000R4HHGO/ref=ord_cart_shr) is close to perfect - cheap, metal so it won’t melt (as my other started doing after a year of use last week) and most of the reviews say how it’s the best toaster they’ve used, and cheap to boot. Congrats on the new digs 🙂 ---

Congrats on the new digs! It’s always nice to have a place of your own. I am curious to know how they can prohibit pets in a place you own. I’ve heard of municipal limitations on the \*number \* of pets you can have, but outright prohibition? ---

I think condo agreements tend to be a lot more restrictive than municipal regulations or homeowners’ agreements. ---

Yay! After all the crap you’ve had to put up with recently, this is wonderful news! I’d recommend a toaster oven instead of a regular toaster. Toaster ovens are great for cooking up one or 2 servings of meat without heating the whole kitchen with the regular oven. I’m also a big fan of bagless vacuum cleaners. Just sayin’… ---

I not only cannot have a pet, I cannot allow some other person’s pet to stay overnight in my house. The place is a 55 and over place; grandchildren are viewed with suspicion as “They might pee (or worse) in the pool.” But the place is considered to be very desirable and in the recent past, commanded top dollar. I got a hell of a good deal on it. ---

Just sayin’… We think alike re toaster ovens. Problem is that the condo is a one bedroom affair; the kitchen is minuscule and counter space is almost non existent. I think it was designed and built twenty years ago and its target buyers were people who ate out a lot. But it does have a great living room, a more or less separate dining room, a screened in back porch (luxury item) and a “bonus room” which will become my office and/or computer room. It also has a bath and a half, both of which are claustrophobia inducing. Plus, I got a hell of a good deal on it. ---
