“Warren” =\> “Warden” (oh boy). On the other hand, when I was in fifth grade, somebody with those little spiral-bound Webster’s Dictionaries in their Trapper binder announced that he had looked up my name in the dictionary, and that I was “a breeding ground for rabbits”. And there it was, in black and white for all to see. Later in life a co-worker conceived of the terrible idea of calling me “Hutch” after hearing this anecdote. ---

Cheri means “dearest little one” (or something similar, reports differ) in French. Of course I am not French, but my Scottish mother had this in mind when she named me. Huh…I should really have been Fiona or Moira or something. ---

Holy cats…I just checked the link that you so thoughtfully provided, **Gartog,** and I find that not only is my total name identity nationality impaired, but it is triple impaired and my name isn’t really Cheri anyway, but Ahava…Hebrew for Cherished One. Now, I have no real problem with being a “Cherished One”…on the contrary, the whole concept sounds wonderful. But…when did I become Hebrew, and what am I going to do with my beautifully monogrammed luggage?
