I am changing Astrofiancee's name!

Of course, I had to pop in here to see what Cubby said, and I bemembered that he called me Pa Bo once, and I didn’t know what it meant, I thought maybe it was an Irish word…because I had no friggen idea it was spelled that way!!! I Goo!

Ack! What is up with these Korean and Irish not spelling anything the way it sounds? HUH??

Sorry for the hijack, this is just a very emotional topic for me. :frowning:

Fiver, noted! But it really wasn’t supposed to be a “gotcha” thread title! I wasn’t considering the greater picture, as I said before… the title included the word “Alas” which should have let people know it wasn’t too serious (I could claim that I thought this through before I posted it so that I could later point to it in my own defense, but the fact is that I didn’t!)

Anyways, Astrogirl it is! (tater, she gets no number because in my eyes, she’s infinite! And there is no little tipped over 8 infinity symbol on my keyboard!)

Again, sincere appologies to all who panicked due to my idiocy! (nice to know that you all care!! Really! )

Oh, and TwistofFate, this really belongs in the other thread (which I’m going to visit next), but:

That’s my belief! But…she knows her 'rents, and I do not… we’ll see… Thanks for the encouragement, though!

That would be very cool. I have a few trips lined up this year. I’ll be in Soeul to visit a Korean aquaintance sometime later this year. Maybe we could do this Kimchee thing,if you’re not too busy slugging it out with your mom.I’ll check in with details when I know them.

I’m presuming they have slow trains in Korea ?

You know it’s a damn shame about that whole North Korea business…were it not for that, one could take a train all the way from the Western Coast of Europe all the way to Seoul.

Trip like that could take days, weeks even…

But with the right travel companion, it would just fly on by.

Know anyone who’d want to make a trip like that?

Hey , sign me up!
Ever since a recent incident I have developed an irrational fear of what will happen to me if I miss a flight so I’m trying to travel by train as much as I can.

I will be doing Helsinki to St.Petersburg with a friend and might continue on from there so maybe we could hook up at some leg on the journey?

Damhna, that depends…is your friend good looking?

I have always wanted to see St. Petersburg though.

E-mail me, I’ll let you know.

Well, geez, you’re welcome, Astro!

I think the trouble was that you were too close to the problem. I’m reminded of a story Gary Larson told in one of his Far Side* collections about a cartoon he had captioned “Punk porcupines.” Later, he showed it to a friend, who remarked that he should have called it “Punkupines.” Larson wrote, “He was right, dang it.”

(I figured the original thread title was a sucker job.)

tater and Damhna, I’d gladly join you on your cross-continent journey through N. Korea… but I don’t see N. Korea opening anytime soon! (why is it that Communist countries are so stick-in-the-muddish? Can’t they see that the rest of the world is just tryin’ to have fun???)

Scarlett, it seems that I am a bit too close to the problem; but that’s me… never able to see the forest for the trees! Such is my lot in life…

goboy, you gonna join us in our (hypotheical) Seoul mini-Dorker-fest?? The more the merrier!!

or “hypothetical”,… either way…

  • time for bed, methinks…*
