If most people’s gut reaction is that anybody who willingly creates that much of a disturbance is an inconsiderate asshole, and it is, the rider of that bike should not be surprised that is what other people think of them. That the safety defence stands on pretty rickety grounds only makes the rider seem either deluded or purposely lying. ---

I’d prefer the whooshing hypothesis because he was sounding like a lunatic, which he doesn’t usually, but by the third post where he hadn’t let up I figured this topic was one of his sore points. (shrug) We all have sore points. ---

Yeah, I think I was whooshed. Not the first time. Now I’m afraid to start up the Whizzer repro I’m putting together because it might be annoyingly loud. Not that it’ll bother Mr Blown Nova whose right exhaust pipe is about fifteen feet from my ear when he leaves for work early Saturday mornings, but because it might knock me down from the moral high ground, aka “my high horse.” Then again, I hear a tuned pipe might give me another two horsepower… ---

Whizzers is too cool. I’m old nuff to remember when the rich kids got Moped, Cushman Eagles and then… and then … the Mustangs come on the scene… Wow, I was dyin of jealousy. Maybe someday, when I figure out how to do it for free. For you, since I know ya and have been reassured you haven’t gone loony on me, I’ll email the eBay link. I’m modifying it to make it safer (better brakes) and more comfortable (yeah, further proof I’m getting old) but it will give you an idea. ---
