Everyday objects which give me the heebiejeebies: Circus music. Porcelain dolls. Curtainless windows. Windows that have curtains, but the curtains are not drawn, when it is dark outside. Mirrors, especially in hallways, especially at night. The bathroom when the shower curtain is closed so I can’t see what’s behind it in the tub. Lonely shoes on the side of the road. Garden statues shaped like frogs. ---

I had a friend who, at his nadir, was so paranoid he refused to hold the hand-rail on a staicase out of fear it would detatch. He would not cross wooden bridges; the concept of ever having to deal with a suspension bridge struck the fear of the gods into his heart. Same with wooden stairs with no solid support underneath. He even refused to be transported in vehicles such as jeeps and SUV’s; to him they appeared top-heavy and would surely tip over (I do believe this is true of loaded minibuses, however.) Essentially, he was of the belief that if something possible could go wrong, it would. He was later diagnosed as a paranoid schitzophrenic, and is doung a LOT better today. I believe only clowns freak him out now, and rightly so. ---

I’m creeped out by sitting in someone elses “butt heat”, like when you sit down in a chair, and it’s still warm from the previous occupant. Also unattached hair, and old upholstered furniture, and I agree with the porcelain dolls. ---

Really that seems quite strange to me. To sit in a seat that has already been ‘pre-warmed’ is quite desirable in my circle of peers; particlarly when it is cold. Our cats seem to have the same idea, as Buster will not hesitate to swat Socks off the couch to lay in a pre-warmed crevice of the couch. ---

Definitely clowns. Cigarette butts floating in the toilet. Cleaning the lint screen of the dryer. Too many people in too small a space (I live in a town where some of the saloons are a hundred years old and some of them are extremely narrow… \). Anybody walking too close behind me. ---

Trucks driving behind me when I drive home late at night. Okay, I live on a pretty remote road. ESPECIALLY when they drive off after I pull into the driveway. I’m always thinking “Did I just let some psychokiller know where I live?” ---

Most of these things creep me out as well.
