# I am getting shot in the neck with laser beams tomorrow

You know, that is an insanely neat idea … tat artists could use that type of ink and the old stuff, use the disappearing ink on younger fold on exposed parts of the body, that way after college or they get married and need to go mainstream the art just poofs off the exposed skin leaving the stuff under clothing that was done in the old school ink.
I wonder how hard it would be to invent disappearing ink in the basic colors…😕

Rather difficult, I expect, unless some sort of naturally existing compound presents itself (like in a plant or something) and happens to be harmless.
Designer ink would be like designer drugs, I expect; it’s not so simple to say “Make it do this” because even if you can accomplish that, you still have to consider that within the human body it’s going to be exposed to all kinds of stuff and while it may do “this” it will also do “that” and “this other thing” and “a little bit of something else” and one of those things just might kill you, or make you rather sick/give you tumours or something. While our grasp of chemistry is good enough to make all kinds of pretty shaped molecules, our grasp of biochemistry/toxicology/pharmacokinetics/etc just isn’t good enough to begin to predict, let alone actually be accurate about what side effects may exist.

It varies on a lot of factors . type of tattoo ink used. The depth of the tattoo ink. The age of the tattoo. The skin type. They said it could take up to 50 treatments for some tattoos, but she has never seen one that actually took over 12.
Black is easier to get rid of, white turns black first then you gotta start over on the black. Green will never go away

I don’t regret getting them in the first place, I do regret not getting them lower on my neck so that I can cover up with a collared shirt.
I doubt I’ll get my other tattoos removed. My wife thinks they are sexy, and they are all in nonvisable places if I wear a shirt and tie.

No. I was not wrong, They didn’t impede me for the last ten years, I met alot of really nice people. Kids love them. Its not like I had a swastika on my neck.
I chose a place I wanted to work, they said no tattoos, I still wanted to work there. I had other options. And I still had a job that pays well, this one pays better.
How ever when my dad offered to pay to have them removed, I told him. It was my choice to get them, and I will pay to have them removed. So I understand it wasn’t the best move in the world, but my feelings are no where as charged as you would like them to be

Green will never go away? Fascinating.
I have seen some pictures of post-removal and the results were not that impressive. Kind of like a darker flesh-colored tattoo, so still quite visible. Is that what you expect yours will end up like, or has technology advanced? If it’s the former, does it feel worth the pain and expense? I guess what I mean is, is some removal “good enough”?

No longer true, [this article](http://www.freep.com/article/20110705/NEWS06/107050375/Erasing-past-Tattoo-removal-becoming-popular-metro-Detroit?odyssey=tab%7Ctopnews%7Ctext%7CFRONTPAGE) was in the paper this morning. Apparently they’ve managed to find away to break up the green inks now.
I’d thought this thread was about thyroid treatments or something but when I read the article I thought, hmmm…

For the cost of the laser removal, you could have the tattoos you want inked on your skin with permanent ink weekly. Just sayin’. 🙂

It’s super expensive, this mornings treatment took 5 seconds on each side. I don’t know of anything else that only lasts 10seconds and costs 150$. Well I take that back. But seriously expensive for actual time spent

They are using a new laser that just came out . She said black can be removed completely. I mean I’ve had 3 treatments and she’s really impressed by the fading already. They switch to a smaller diameter laser next time.
If it looks like a shadow of a tattoos, like weird pigment. I will be happy. Basically, if I can pass it off as a birthmark or something lame like that to my bosses, I’ll be happy
Anything to make me not wear a turtleneck or make up, it’s 100degrees on a reg basis for the last month and it’s fork and spoon hot with a turtle neck on
