Not the first time I’ll have seen the movie of course. But a local theater [Screenland](http://screenland.com/) is showing it the final friday of each month. Apparently attendees are prone to arriving dressed as a character from the movie. They serve alcohol there, so White Russians will be in great supply. This theater is great because one (or more, I don’t recall) row of seats are cushy La-Z-Boy type seats that recline ALL the way back, so it pays to arrive early. 😃 ---

They sometimes latch onto a movie and play it for ages, seeming to say “HEY! You missed this when it was in the theaters, SEE IT NOW!” They played **The Prizewinner of Defiance Ohio** for weeks and weeks and weeks, long after it left the regular theaters. I think they even had a money-back guarantee for it. I was there on a visit (wheras my husband works in Kansas City) and I think we saw **Good Night and Good Luck** , and we did sit in the recliners (there’s a whole row of them). He’s down there now. I’ll tell him about this. I’d love to see **The Big Lebowski** in the theater again. ---

I saw it once at the Red Vic on Haight. They were showing it April 20th at 4:20 and 7pm. We went to the 7pm show and then went to Murio’s Trophy Room, a dive bar across the street. We walked up and ordered four White Russians, and the bartender had this extremely confused/exasperated face as he turned around to make the drinks. The guys who were sitting at the bar in front of us asked us if we went to see _Lebowski_, and then said, “Yeah, we went to the earlier show… we had to go buy cream for the bar.” ---
