# I Am Having All Kinds of Trouble, and No One is Helping Me

This might help:

1. Click **log in**
2. Click the **With Email** button in the Log In screen
3. Enter your Email Address and click **I Forgot my Password** _(don’t enter your old password, that is dead)_
4. Get the Email and follow the **Click the following link to log in:**
5. Click your little avatar or name,
6. Click your user name at the top of that drop down
7. click **Preferences** (takes you to Account)
8. part way down is the **Password reset** , follow that.
9. You will get a [Straight Dope Message Board] Set Password Email and at the bottom is **Click the following link to choose a password:** , Click it.
10. Type in a new 8+ character password with at least 1 cap, 1 number & 1 special character.
11. Type it again and accept.
