Yeah, you might, but nobody’s provided a reliable cite that this actually happened – remember? I’m betting any damage to the gardens was minimal, or otherwise considered acceptable within the scope of the visit. I bet the Queen wasn’t “furious”. I bet the head gardener didn’t cry. If someone has a better cite, then lay it on us, brother. Otherwise, I’ll file this with other dubious tabloidery. ---

It’s not like they had absolutely no clue the helecopter was going to land there. The big H didn’t just drop out of the sky (so to speak). This landing had to have been planned and approved by several people, I’m sure. I doubt it was just “Oh, dear, there’s a helicopter landing…OH, NO, IT’S LANDING ON THE LAWN!” ---

I too am incredibly embarrassed by the man who sits in the White House, but as far as the list of reasons for my embarrassment, the state of the gardens of the Queen of England and the emotional health of her pet flamingos come in somewhere between numbers seven and eight thousand. ---

The Royal Family is littered with military members. Helicopters are not an unusual vehicle in their entourage. I find it hard to believe they have never landed on the lawns of the Palace before. Indeed, I imagine they would have a special area for such visits. ---

This is probably just a bit of shit stirring by the Sunday Mirror. It’s a sister paper of the Daily Mirror. Yes, the same Daily Mirror that sneaked a reporter into Buck House pretending to be a servant. Royalty and the Mirror Group are not talking to one another right now. There is a simple solution, though… invite the Queen over the the U.S. for a visit, and she can let her corgies loose in the rose garden to uproot the plants and defecate all over the lawns… ---
