This thread made me think about when the board crashed and we had nothing (well almost nothing) to take its place. Now that made me appreciate SDMB and be willing to put up with a little slowness. Eventually, I also got over losing 200+ on my post count. :rolleyes: [sup]or maybe I didn’t get over it.[/sup]
Heck, I lost almost 500.
Whereas I, on the other hand, drink wine, scratch my wife’s butt, and frequently swear at my storm gutters.
See? It takes all kinds.
Sometimes it seems vBulletin almost dies from the workload these boards can get, I agree.
Note: vBulletin or practically any off the shelf board solution will “drag” from time to time due to the load of the site.
These forums are perfectly fine however. As far as how come SDMB members are not “doing” something about it…All I can say is, who’s going to pay them? 
MasterChief, you know that you can have more than one browser window open at a time, right? I have alot up at one time, each on a website. Then I can be doing something on another website while I wait for the pages to load. Netscape 7 does this nicely.
