I am scared ..

That would just be nuts!

I wanna go there and there and there and there and there and there and there and there and there and there and there and there and there…

Needs a “You Are Here” dot.

That is truly an awesome photograph.

No fear. That is a truly beautiful, awesome picture!

(To add to the other post earlier: “…and pray that there’s intelligent life somewhere up in space, 'cause there’s bugger all down here on Earth!”)

Now, what freaks me out? The song “In the year 2525”. It almost made my mind explode as a kid trying to think that far into the future. It made me realize my own mortality and it scared me to no end.

I’m 41 now and that song still freaks me out…

If you’re ever in the LA area, I highly recommend the Big Picture at Griffiths Observatory. It’s a similar picture, but displayed on a wall about 150 by 20 feet. That makes you feel small!

In the Year 2525 is one of the corniest, most miserable songs ever recorded.

Not.

That is perhaps the most awesome image I have ever seen.

Was anyone else expecting the image to stop loading, replaced by a devils face and screams blasting out your speakers?

You technically are there… think about it.

:frowning:

That song was ahead of its time. Thing is, the topics in the song came sooner than expected. :frowning:

I went full screen on that image, and it is awesome how even the littlest specks are galaxies. Then I realised that it was high time that I dusted my screen, and I wiped out half of the universe in the process. But there were still a lot of specks left. I’d like to see Google map that.

Is it definitely the case that all the smaller specks are actually distant galaxies rather than nearer but very faint stars?
