I am sick. Sick with ick.

I’m sorry to hear,
though you’re not near,
that you are sick,
with the dreaded Ick.

I hope that you unsicken soon,
maybe tomorrow, perhaps by noon.
And then you’ll come back good and well,
and you can post while feeling swell.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed this rhyme,
or at least not found it a horrible crime.
And remember, it could be worse. You see,
at least the Ick has not struck me.

I’d just like to add that you should probably stick to decaf tea. I love tea, but I find when I’m sick (or hungover), the less caffeine the better. However, I’m a hardcore caffeine addict, so I’ll usually have one cuppa normal tea before venturing into decaf territory, or else I get headaches that’d make you wish a cold was ALL that was wrong with you.

Also, when I’m seriously congested, sometimes I enjoy sitting on the shower floor (all the while cursing whoever gave me their damn cold. Hate may not heal, but it’ll sure distract the hell out of ya) while the spray is on super-hot. I assume it’s the steam that helps. Of course, you have to sit outside of the range of the water… it’s a lot easier if you have a hand-held shower head. Afterwards, I’ll bundle all up in my big fluffy robe and my “101 Dalmations” slippers. So comforting…

Hope you feel better soon or at least get prescribed some nice drugs.

Uck. Colds suck. (Or perhaps they blow?) In any event, they are a miserable thing to go through. So get better already! …There, did that work?

I used to get something like that every few months when I first began teaching. Peppermint tea with a little honey was the best for an icky throat, although the “throat coat” stuff works well too. Curl up on a sofa with a big think blanket and a cute boy who is the nuturing type, waste some time watching Olympics and old favorite videos.

Hope you’re feeling better soon, matt!

Chinese hot and sour soup.
Ginger root tea.
Tiger Balm on the chest (forget Vick’s, it’s wimpy)
Vitamin C, zinc lozenges, echinacea
Vaporizer, with a little Tiger Balm in the water.
Snuggle under a pink blanket. It is absoulutely vital that the blanket be pink. If you don’t have a pink blanket, call your mom and ask her to bring you one. Moms always have at least one pink blanket.

It’s the only way.

yup, gotta have the pink blanket. My mom used to have two or three. I think we have them all now.

I was flipping through the boards, and I saw this and actually yelled “reference of the past! Woo hoo!”
My dorm thinks I’m psycho.

Anyway, sweetie, get better soon. I’m on the tail end of a cold and I’ve been snorking on coughdrops like there’s no tomorrow. <hugs and kleenex>. We can have a pity party!

I just remembered the day that you took no-doze or something like that and stayed up all night… what was it, 8 posts to the list?
