I think that your definition of “vitriol” is too broad, and too forgiving. I have no problem with vitriol or pointed attacks. In fact, though I hate unsubstantiated talking points, at least they tend to be presented in a civil manner. But using language like the examples I posted in the OP isn’t going to do anything to help anyone. All it does is make the person using it look stupid. And I have another one I just saw on TPM this morning: “Teahadist.” Ick. ---
