Well, it would pretty ignorant of me to assume that all ignorance could be ultimately defeated. It would be a waste of effort to combat twitter-bigots. I’d rather just mock them.

I think you are wanted by the majority of “us”. But remember, haters are everywhere and then tend to be vocal about it. Hate is a great attention-getting advice and many haters are seeking just that.

People say shit like this when they believe that only like-minded listeners are in earshot. So if everyone just ignores them, they won’t go away. On the contrary they will assume that they are safe to express these beliefs and that everyone else who doesn’t object must hold similar opinions.
Bigot-shaming is a good way to remedy their confusion.

It does? I don’t even know what Wrhnic humor is. 😉
I think the jokes are making light of something so absurd that there is no serious answer to it - the lovely Nina was born in the US, she’s an American citizen, and as far as we know, she won fair and square. That she’s the wrong colour for some of the idiots on the internet is completely ridiculous.
And, she can’t be a Muslim, because she’s not from The Iraq. 🙂

Some Indian commentators are saying that Miss America is too dark to win a pageant in India. Apparently most contestants use surgery and skin lightening products.
