The âitâ I refer to, of course, is âthe absurd hilarity that is **Shodan** âs replyâ. The apparently unintentional irony is delicious:
- Post quote that explains how frequently a white person will take a discussion about racism and invalidate a PoCâs argument to make it all about HIM HIM HIM and WHITES WHITES WHITES.
- Watch **Shodan** reply by taking that quote from a PoCâs argument about racism and attempt to invalidate it [sub](via the extremely creative âswitch the races in this paragraphâ method that has never been used before, ever)[/sub] and make it all about HIM HIM HIM and WHITES WHITES WHITES.

Hahah. I will love Lara Dutta forever. And yeah, Davuluri wouldnât lose out on skin colour, not these days. Perhaps in the 90âs. But I just donât find her pretty, to be honest.

As a non-white person, I would just like to apologize on behalf of all white people who are racists or insensitive for the attack on Miss Davuluri. I am sorry that many white people are clueless to how their defense of themselves reflect on all white people, when they should be sympathizing with Miss Davuluri for the fact that this kind of racism still happens. All white people are sorry that this has happened whether they want to be or not, because it shouldnât happen, and racist justifications of freedom of speech or the accusations of humorlessness on the part of the victim are sadly misplaced. So for John Mace, Shodan, and all those like him, and all white people in general, we are sorry for our stupidity and hope to change for the better so that someday, all races will be equally offended by jokes and no one race is deemed funnier than the next.

I dunno, I think you coming in here and claiming people making blatantly hateful racist jokes âso called racistsâ, and the shaming of them âwitch-huntingâ, is enough to prove my point, and frankly dealing with you any more isnât worth my time. But again, this just proves my earlier point, the âOh, Iâm not a card carrying KKK member, I canât be racistâ bullshit, where racists think as long as youâre not as bad as those really bad people, you canât be bad at all.

I hereby apologize for **huesos** and his continuing ignorance on racial sensitivity. He is wrong and he knows heâs wrong, but he is a small person and has not the courage to admit it. Race is sometimes a deeply conflicting issue and it takes an amount of empathy that he doesnât have in order to speak about it intelligently and without offending anyone. There are no âso-called racistsâ in this thread, just actual racists, and huesos is very sorry that he has chosen to take their side in cowardice instead of standing up to them. Someday, he will speak out against the racists, but his racial sensitivity classes are only halfway through and they didnât get to that chapter yet.

At some point this guy will learn that plenty of Dopers are not from the USA. And maybe heâll also learn that a lot of us who are recognize the flaws in our country and are working to change it.

You missed the part wherein I told you that I am not a US-duhmerican, and do not share your views on âracial sensitivityâ. A hint: The US has precious little âmoral high groundâ on which to judge others over this very subject. Your track record is rather poor. :rolleyes:

Youâre new here. Stick around and youâll find a nice cross section of intelligent Americans and a number of other participating countries to boot.
People here are far from clueless. I think if you tone it down a bit and participate youâll find that it is you who is clueless. Thatâs pretty much the epiphany that struck me a few months after registration.
