Up here, American coins are taken at par, the exchange rate is applied only on American bills. Machines will take indifferently American or Canadian coins for example. ---

Zoogirl, how old are you, the Dollar has been worth more than the loonie for at least 10 years. Now to the Canadians. Detop is typical of the FRENCH Canadian. They have the French attitude of “Let the Americans save us twice, then we will stand up for ourselves” attitude. I live in North Dakota, one hour south of the border, and we get busloads (literally) of people from Manitoba that shop here every day. The Canadians in the western provinces are much more conservative than those in Quebec and Ontario. That’s not supposed to say republican, just not not French-Stupid. (coined a new phrase!) Viva the death of France! ---

Umm… first of all, to my knowledge (from my Canadian mother and brothers): Canuck = derogatory term for English Canadians Frog = derogatory term for French Canadians. Can also mean French people Last I hear, French Canadians were a bit of a joke to the real French, because the Candian frogs have this fantasy that somehow speaking french makes them french. I’ve never met a Canadian I didn’t like, but then again… I’ve only met Canucks 🙂 ---

I believe that French-Canadians should have a bounty placed on them and that there should be a year round open season on them, with no license required. Maybe they undergo some sort of mutation upon arrival in Florida, I don’t know, but I have never encountered any national or ethnic group that comes close to matching them for arrogance and rudeness. ---

LouisB I agree, but I should have prefaced that everyone with a gripe against the EASTERN Canadians (Frogs) are different from teh Westerners. Our local (U.S.) paper has many people slammming the “Easterners” It’s the French influence that is the the real problem. Or shouldn’t we have fought the Nazi’s? ---

Okay, to address the Storytown/Great Escape amusement park thing: The joint was getting pretty seedy until Great Adventure or whoverver it was bought them out. It’s been significantly upgraded since then, and has stuff like the aforementioned Boomerang which are actually interesting and fun. If you have kids, the water park thing is great too, because it keeps the whiny little knee-biters happy and relatively non-annoying for an hour or so. The only real problem with the place is their foolish habit of letting the Canadians in. Getting back to the real topic: As near as I can tell, the only redeeming feature of the Quebecois is that they produce some incredibly hot women. Unfortunately, at some point they end up opening their mouths and the garbage they call a language spews out. Then Mr. Happy just wilts. ---

Mith sounds pissed-off. Maybe just jealous that he isn’t American, or she isn’t American. Eastern Canadians are so “little-man” syndrome, even us North Dakotans don’t take them seriously. When I lived in West Virginia, it was people from New York or New Jersey. Here in the Pacific Northwest, it’s Californians. I find it interesting (sort of a morbid fascination) that provincial idiots from one region mostly annoy provicial idiots in the regions they visit.
