I wonder if it’s a waste of mine time to point out that people should learn the difference between Canadians, Francophones, East side, West side, Center if the universe (ontario) and everything else (everything else) before they make remarks about a certain group. There’s nothing more… amusing… than to see all Canadians being insulted when it was clearly aimed at only a portion of them. Yeah, I guess it IS somewhat a little waste of time, but then again, I am on a message board! 🙂 ---

Speaking as an American citizen with Canadian parents: I currently live in Western Washington. Many people in Washington State bitch about Mexicans, since there are many here ([Mr. Garrison]Mayor, can we get rid of all the Mexicans?[/Mr. Garrison} Yeah, I know, South Park is in Colorado. So sue me.) I also hear about busloads of Canadians coming down to my beloved U.S.of A. to spend money on less expensive consumer goods. More money to the U.S. Not bad, eh? I also hear about busloads of us Yanks going up to the Great White North for cheaper prescriptions. More money for the Dominion. Not bad, y’know? Besides Canada producing the glory that is my family, they also produced the glory that is Rush. Anyone who objects to either (or both!) should have their balls, or ovaries, ripped off with a plastic fork! 😛 ---

OK. Yes. I do belive Canada deserves abuse for spawning Celine Dion and Bryan Adams. I also think the U.S. deserves abuse for spawning Leif Garret, Scott Baio (sp?), Budweiser, Neoconservatism, Ronald Fucking Reagan, McDonald 's (ewww!), and, to sum it all up, in my not so humble opinion: homogenized mediocrity. See me as a snob if you want, but, goddamn, people! ---

Is there another Canada that I’m not aware of? Or are some people here dwelling in a slightly different set of space time coordnates? I go to Canada quite often on business (just got back this afternoon in fact) Usually I go Vancouver, but I have also been to Toronto, and Montreal. Without a doubt the Canadians are the nicest people I have ever delt with. Freindly, funny, and the women in Vancouver are hot. I am sure there are assholes in Canada, but I have never met one, something I cannot say about New Yorkers. If I ever hit the lotto, I’m gonna move to BC. ---

One more quick note. I was in Vancouver on 9/11. The compassion of the Canadians I encountered was almost beyond belief. Good people. ---

Jesus. I didn’t condemn all Canadians! I’m taliking aout the Eastern Libs that were quoted world-wide as saying “those American bastards” “Those damn Americans” etc. It’s the French influence. Just ask anyone west of Ontario. They hate the Easterners for having the people to vote n the left-wingers. INO and detop, same back at you. Hamish, keep walking those streets and hope a criminal that wouldn’t follow gun laws anyway doesn’t shoot you. If you do get shot, get to the hospital. BTW, free health care and state-sponsored health care are different. State-sponsored means you’re paying for it through taxes. your taxes are also paying for health care to the loser down the street that refuses to work since you’re covering him. **lite** has obviously spent too much time near missile silos being exposed to heightened radiation levels. It’s rotting his brain. Hey! Wakey wakey! Saskatchewan and Manitoba both have NDP governments. That’d be to the _left_ of the Liberals (who aren’t left-wingers in the first place), not to the right. In fact, if you knew anything about Canadian history, you’d know that it was the West that was the birthplace of socialized medicine, etc. Ontario and Quebec are traditionally more conservative than the west. (Ignoring Alberta, of course, which is the proper attitude to take towards Alberta in any event :D) ---
