Nothing told you that, other than your desire that it was so. You thought to yourself “The coworkers meant it either jokingly or insultingly.” and in order to deside which, you just picked the one that made you feel better.
I see. I thought “not much of a racist” meant “you’re a racist, and a terrible one at that.”
Made me feel better? It doesn’t make me feel better to know there’s some asshat out there in a work environment where people have to suffer him every day. Seems to me choosing that as a “theme song” for you makes them feel better. Perhaps presented to you as a joke, behind your back, not so much. To them, it’s probably even funnier than it should be.
Did you really think in the context of the rest of this thread that anyone would think any differently? I was just pointing out that there may be a less lighthearted undertone to your co-workers’ assigning you a theme song of your own. Unless everyone has one. Does everybody have one? What a bunch of time wasters!
Seeing as how most of them are pointing and laughing at you guys getting your panties in a twist, and one of them has had…“encounters”…with Jamal, yeah, I think they’re joking.
Well, yes, but that kinda misses the point. The Yankees have an incitement to win – to be better --: they get prize money, better career options, fame, whatever. What’s the incitement to ‘win at life’? Why would I want to strive to be better than you, or anyone? Is it all just bragging rights?
You’re a blindingly smart, successful guy. You take the same train to and from work every day–your house doesn’t move around, nor does your office. And yet, you can’t do simple math to figure out ahead of time how much money you need to have on that temporary card?
I’ve always bought my own card and load it with funds from my employer, except when I’m waiting for Metro to transfer the balance from the previous one.
All right, I definitely did not get a great impression of Chessic from this Pit thread, but after seeing this shit, I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
A thousand people kvetching and moaning about this horrible tragedy and he’s the only one of us who actually did something about it. Consider me humbled.
