When our 8 yr old son was 3 or 4, it was our first Thanksgiving at our new house, whole extended family there, beautiful table, everything perfect, we are all just sitting down, he takes one of the large slotted serving spoons out of one of the dishes and holds it right up close to his face and says to Mike, "Daddy, look, “None shall pass!”, it was a shining moment of pride for us. ---

My children aren’t old enough for Monty Python yet either ([Alex](http://www.peteandkellie.com/html/alex_daily_pic.html) is not yet four, and [Teagan](http://www.peteandkellie.com/html/teagan_daily_pic.html) is only two), but they’ve heard my wife and I joke about the Argument Clinic sketch. Occasionally, when Alex hears one of us say “No it isn’t”, he’ll say, “This isn’t an argument!” To which, of course, our only proper response is, “Yes it is.” ---

Hedgehogs. I see them every so often on my evening walks, waddling along and muttering to themselves (as we know hedgehogs do). I keep expecting them to turn around and say “Dinsdale?” in a basso profundo voice. My Latin teacher in school had us watch the “Romans go home” skit in class. The line “_People called Romanes they go the house?_” floats through my head every time someone so much as mentions Latin grammar.
