Your profile says you’re in Ontario. Are you in Edmonton, now? If so, it’s a scorcher today, eh? Almost 100. My normally pasty white body is brown as a baked potato from riding around all day, every day.

I haven’t lived full time in Edmonton in a while, but I travel back frequently. I arrived back in Ontario from an Edmonton trip just this Monday.

Assuming you aren’t a delivery driver/rider in India or Japan ---- say three grocery bags worth maybe? I would keep weight down to say 80 pounds but I’m fatter than most Dopers; I think. I would keep it all behind me though and not use a little basket inside the front shield like my Lambretta had. Once something fell out and wedged under my brake pedal and pretty much solved my constipation issues for the next week. 🙂

Back in the 80s one of my older sisters had a Vespa. The thing I liked about it was you could shut off the engine and just pedal around. It was a nice way to save gas (going down hills or if it was almost on E).
