Really, really hot soup for lunch. Huge blister on the roof of my mouth, which just finished peeling. _ **AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!** _ I think I’ll go suck on a freezy… ---

_Owchie!_ I end up doing this a few times a week…guess I should stock some ice pops in the fridge. Hadn’t thought of that. I usually get pizza for lunch every day, and invariably my rational thought gives way to cravings for ooey gooey cheese and garlicy goodness and before I know it my mouth is one big burnt mess. Hope it feels better soon so you can enjoy more good soup! ---

Thanks. I followed the soup with nice, cold sushi which helped a little, but I have to say - when you reach in yer mouth, and huge chunks of skin are peeling off the roof of it, it’s a tad disconcerting. :eek: ---

:eek: Yeeowch! Much sympathy, and I hope you feel better soon, and all, but may I ask a really dumb question? How do people _do_ this to themselves? I’ve burned the roof of my mouth once or twice and that was enough to convince me that **no** amount of hot soup or garlicky goodness (or, in my case, fresh coffee) was worth that kind of suffering, and I could stand to let it cool for another couple of minutes! Maybe I’m just a wimp? ---

When I was about eight years old, I saw a fire-eater perform. I became convinced that I, too, could eat fire if only I practiced and practiced and practiced. Burns in and around one’s mouth are not fun. I whimped out and gave up on that career. ---

Well, I had a very painful dinner. Just a plain old cheese sandwich with some tomatoes and cucumber. No worries - right? Well, until I got to the crust. As to how it happend, well, I really like miso soup. They served the miso soup and I had a spoonful. I had no idea that they had super-heated it to 1,000 degrees hotter than the sun. I’m not sure how they did it, actually… ---

My wife is famous for doing that. If I try to warn her she gets angry at me for talking down to her. If I don’t tell her she gets angry (not at me but the end result is the same) too. I can’t fucking win. Haj ---
